Heβs been at the vet π© since and I went to visit him today. Heβs like a whole new puppy π₯°! Heβs eye has been removed and was super infected, he had mange and a large abscess under his chin. Have you looked around lately!? Animal control hardly (if at all) even picks up anymore π. We have litter after unwanted litters being born on the streets and dogs suffering till their last breath π. How sad it is to know that our geographic area is well known to treat our animals like crap π. This mama πΆ here is just one of a ton of our valley statistics π. She was obviously owned at one point, has a collar to show for it π. Yet she roamed the street having litter after litter and forced to survive on her own. A friend reached out a couple days ago. Stray mama πΆ had her most recent litter in some random persons backyard, in a portion of an old wooden box. A day and a half later all her 8 babies πΎ die in foster and now here she is with me. As sweet as can be π©·, hanging out with me and one of my cats π±. They have taken refuge at this homeβ¦skin and bone, infested with fleas, fluffy is matted to the spine, female dobi was pregnant on arrival but all died π. I found these girls a bit over 6 months ago π on the street. It took a minute to gain their trust to secure them, one had puppies πΎ at the time and one was pregnant. Life on the streetβ¦eating out of dumpsters, dodging cars, having litter after litter, living though the random freezes and the intense heat π. Itβs all part of their past! Their puppies grew and were all adopted out π‘ and itβs now their turn to head to their forever π«. Iβve been dreading this day since the moment i got them in my car π, but the heartbreak is part of the commitment. He would run to the gate, tail wagging, when she would arrive π with his food and water π§, He was barley making in this heat π₯, and he was very weary ,always keeping an eye out and would not ever get to comfortable. I assumed he was abused π..he has old wounds. Missing a chunk of his nose, his lip flaps are rigid and uneven, and he has scars all over his face and a few spots on his body where fur will never grow back π. My mom named him Gentle Ben πΆ pretty much immediately, which is weird cuz it is literally spot on. We knew we were going to have to carry him out of there, and squeeze him though the opening in the gate? after multiple tries with leashes and such. I was almost home when I ran across a post about a pup who had been hit by a car π and had been lying on the side of the road unable to move for more then a day. Describing myself as upset would be an understatement. I lost it when I saw himβ¦5 feet off the road, having been given food and water and then left to die π. He was a baby, about 3.5-4 months, and despite his pain still happy to me. He was at the vet π© a long long time, his lower half was was broken.
